ACADEMY OF LEARNING (AOL) - INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAMME

AOL is a DFES registered private training provider accredited with The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) and The Oxford Cambridge & RSA (OCR) awarding body to deliver a complete range of Management, Health & Social Care, Customer Service and associated qualifications.

AOL benefits from direct supplier contracts with The Learning & Skills Council (LSC) to deliver government and ESF funded training as well as being partners in a number of consortiums under the same programmes.

AOL is both the lead and active participants in a number of ESF funded European projects.

AOL has a wide range of private clients including Radisson Hotels, C2C & ONE Railways, Sainsburys, Port of Tilbury, Tate & Lyle, Neopost and a large number of private Care Providers in the Eastern Region.

As part of its growth strategy AOL has recently concluded a supplier agreement with Anglia Ruskin University to identify candidates for undergraduate and post graduate courses offered by their Institute of Health & Social Care and the Michael Ashcroft International Business School. The agreement is global but is initially focused on the Philippines and Dubai.

One of the first initiatives under this agreement is the recruitment of Filipino nurses who possess a valid Filipino nursing degree to study in the UK with Anglia Ruskin for either a BSc (Hons) in Health & Social Care or a BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Practice.

In parallel AOL is offering a combined Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) First Line Management Programme and Oxford Cambridge & RSA Board (OCR) mainly for those who’s academic awards do not reach the required level for those selected for a BSc Course.

This programme has an outcome of an internationally recognised management award equivalent to a Level 3 qualification in the UK Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) framework.

The outcomes will be assessed by 10 work based assignments, a work based project, a Summative Personal Development Record and a meeting with an External Verifier.

The knowledge outcomes will also be used as evidence to enable the students to obtain Level 3 National Vocational Qualification in Health and Social Care.

The programme will normally have a total duration of 24 months.

The programme will commence with a 8 week full time induction programme followed by 22 months of study and will require 16 hours per week attendance at and participation in tutorial sessions, vocational training and mentoring programmes which will be supported by online facilities, extensive learning materials and tutorial support.

On the basis of the course of study, as above, a formal offer is made by AOL and student visa application is submitted which allows for the student to have a work placement in excess of 30 hrs per week. The visa application also requires certain conditions from the candidates including some form of financial guarantee and confirmation of full payment of the course and travel fees.

The student visa will initially be for a period of 1 to 2 years.

AOL will identify a suitable work placement, which will include accommodation. The agreement with the employer will be linked to, and be conditional upon, the employer, the candidate and AOL entering into a formal learning agreement which will specify the commitment of all three parties to the agreed course of study.

The fees paid by the candidate comprise the tuition fee, visa processing fee and travel costs and will vary depending on the duration of the course, further information can be obtained by contacting us.

There is no fee payable by the student in respect of the Vocational Work Placement.

Once in the UK the candidate is the responsibility of AOL who will have formal agreements with Anglia Ruskin for delivery, where applicable and the work placement organisation in respect of their commitment to the candidate in terms of facilitating the learning opportunities required.
